Tips to Speed Up a Slow Computer
Is there anything more frustrating than a computer that takes forever to perform the simplest tasks? There are many reasons that a computer may be under performing, some of which are easier to identify than others. It is important to regularly run some maintenance on your system to keep it up to speed. Here are a few things that I like to do once every couple of weeks to make sure my computer doesn't start to lag.1. Perform a disk cleanup. Running disk cleanup deletes temporary files, cookies, history, etc. It basically removes unnecessary files that are stored on your hard drive. This keeps things less cluttered. To run disk cleanup in Windows, go to start -> programs->accessories->system tools->disk cleanup.2. Manually Remove Unused Programs and Files. Most of us are guilty of allowing our hard drives to fill up with programs and files that we've downloaded and/or installed, but never use.
